Hasselblad Owners’ Club Introduces new Voting System
22/08/2011 A new voting system has been introduced for HOC members to make things easier in the future for the thousands of members who want to take part in voting for their favourite image each month.
As before, HOC members are invited to look at the pictures that have been entered for the competition and to award those that they like a score that can vary from 1 through to 5, with 5 being the highest points total they can award.
At the end of the month points are tallied up, a winner is declared and all points totals drop back to zero so that the competition can begin again.
The old system tended to be time-consuming in that viewing of the entries had to start from the beginning and those wishing to vote needed to go through all of the images one by one to get to a specific picture or set of pictures.
One further change is that while it has always been possible for a member to add a text to their image to give the viewer more information, it’s now also possible to attach EXIF information as well, allowing more details to be shared, such as camera and lens, ISO set and aperture and shutter speed used. It’s a chance to further enhance your entry, and HOC members are invited to log on and add their EXIF information as soon as possible.
